Finland。Helsinki。Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
"Taiwanese in Suomi" also held Pikkujoulu in middle of December. we had lunch meeting in Asian food restaurant, played some small games and exchanged gifts.
For Christmas, people usually stay at home, get together with family, to eat, chat , and relax. It is similar with the Chinese culture "surrounding the stove", means people gather around the table to eat Chinese New Year's Eve dinner.
I was lucky to join my friend's family christmas dinner. It was lovely opportunity for me to experience and understand how Finns celebrate this special day.
In addition to this, when I visited supermarket, it was nice to see my old friend - Hyacinth, that I worked with it when I was in Australia. It is a kind of Christmas flowers in Finland!
hi~ nice to see you again in Finland's supermarket ~
After delicious Christmas dinner, everyone chatted, watched TV. I also practiced my Finnish with children. However, the 7 years old boy didn't understand easily my Finnish, so sad~~ seems I better to practice with 1 yours old little girl.....
Then New Year came after Christmas. I went to Helsinki city center to join the official new year party. wow, I never see so many people since I came to Finland~
The performances started from 10:45 pm, it included hip-hop, fire dancing, small circus, singing ... etc, these programs were good! It came to New Year's Eve countdown soon. Midnight!! Happy New Year! the fireworks was beautiful~
